From March onwards South Australia’s apple orchards in the pristine Adelaide Hills start bearing fruit. Some of the apple varieties include Golden Delicious, Fuji, Royal Gala and Pink Lady as well as the tart Granny Smith. Local pears are also in season including the gorgeous Buerre Bosc with the first of the citrus becoming available toward the end of the season.
Buying fresh seasonal produce not only tastes better – But it’s also better for you
Nothing can beat locally grown, fresh seasonal produce. Not only does in-season produce taste better and last longer, it’s also more likely to have a higher nutritional value than produce grown out of season.
