Fall’s here, which means it’s apple picking season – and we can’t wait to get baking.
Now is the time when our Adelaide Hills apples are in season. They’re crisp, they’re crunchy and they make the most delectable desserts. Not just a sweet, but savoury as well with chicken apple saute, an apple quesadilla or a homemade apple sauce bringing seasonal flair (and sweetness) to the main meal. For budget friendly cooking cabbage, smoked sausage and apple are the perfect seasonal pairing.
The Adelaide Hills cooler climate and fertile, well draining soils produce the best tasting apples. Better still, as they’re grown in a recognised fruit fly free area they don’t require additional spraying or heat treatment before being put to market (unlike interstate apples). It means our locally grown and loved apples have far better taste, better flavour and are naturally better for you.
