Did you know – Baby broccoli is often misidentified as young broccoli, when in fact it’s a hybrid of broccoli and gai-lan (Chinese broccoli). Baby broccoli is naturally sweeter than broccoli, with slender, delicate stalks topped by a small floret that is not as compact or tight as the common varieties of broccoli.
Baby broccoli has high levels of vitamin K, vitamin C and is a good source of vitamin E, vitamin B6 and folic acid. Like broccoli, baby broccoli is a rich source of the flavonoid kaempferol. This flavonoid lessens the impact of allergy causing substances and has unique anti-inflammatory benefits.
